HELP Procedures 2024-2025
We have started our after school tutoring and makeup test program known as HELP - Hahnville Educational Learning Program. Makeup testing is available Tuesday, Wednesday, and Thursday. Tutoring is available for all subjects Monday through Thursday through either HHS teacher led in person tutoring or virtual tutoring. All sessions including virtual tutoring will take place in the library. For virtual tutoring, an HHS teacher will be on hand to get you logged into the program and to help you with any tech needs.
All students must sign into tutoring by 2:30. Students who are late will need a signed pass from a teacher, coach, or sponsor. If you do not have a pass, you must sign in with the monitor in the commons and remain there until the second tutoring session begins.
HELP tutoring schedule will be:
2:30 - 2:40 Sign in, turn in phones and snack time
2:40 - 3:25 Tutoring or Makeup Test Session One
3:25 - 3:35 Break, Snack and Switch Session Time
3:35 - 4:20 Tutoring or Makeup Test Session Two
4:20 - 4:25 Pack up and return phones
4:25 - 4:30 Wait for buses
If a student is riding the bus, they must remain in a HELP session until bus transportation is available at 4:30. If a student drives or has other transportation home, they must leave campus immediately upon leaving the HELP session.
Since HELP is an extension of the academic school day all school rules and policies apply. Consequences will mirror the district’s official policies.
- Students must wear school issued IDs and follow dress code rules at all times.
- Cell phones must be turned in when signing into tutoring sessions.
- Personal headphones/earbuds are not allowed.
Students must bring all appropriate materials to HELP.
- Calculators will be provided in HELP.
- Students will not be allowed to retrieve materials from another location or HELP assignments from teachers after 2:30.
Participation in the HELP program is a privilege. It is expected that the students follow all rules set for HELP by the HHS Administration. Students who cause disruptions to the HELP program will be suspended for a period of at least 2 weeks. Parents will be notified. After one suspension, students risk losing HELP privileges for the remainder of the school year.
