Photography Club
The Photography Club gives students the chance to develop their photography skills while having fun with peers who share the same interest. Members will learn how to use DSLR cameras, as well as discover tips and techniques to get the most out of the cameras on their phones. Each meeting includes themed photo challenges, opportunities to practice composition, lighting, and editing, and group discussions to share and reflect on each other’s work.
This club welcomes all skill levels, from beginners who are just starting out to students who already enjoy taking photos. By the end of the year, members will have gained practical knowledge, confidence behind the camera, and a collection of work to showcase their growth as photographers.
Does a student need to have a DSLR camera to join?
No, but we are limited on how many we presently have access to. Students may use DSLRs that are at home for projects as many of the features are nearly universal, with slight adjustments. If your student can provide the make and model of the camera to the sponsor, we can research key differences to help make using it for projects/challenges at home easier.
