TOPS/LOSFA/FAFSA

FAFSA (Free Application for Federal Student Aid)

Attention Parents/Guardians of the graduating class of 2024:

Click the link below to begin and prepare for the 2024-2025 FAFSA to open on December 31st, 2023. 

Step 1: Create your student & parent FSA IDs at https://studentaid.gov/

  • To create an FSA ID, each person needs to go to studentaid.gov and click “Create Account” in the upper right-hand corner. The application is available in English and Spanish. 
  • Determine if or which parent is considered a Contributor for the FAFSA.
    • Each person will need the following:
      • Full name and social security number as they appear on social security card(if applicable)
      • Date of birth
      • Valid email address and phone number
      • Immediate access to your email account
      • Your residential address
      • Please note: If you have a sibling who attended college before you, your parent or guardian may already have an FSA ID.

Step 2: Complete your 24-25 FAFSA beginning on December 31st, 2023 at https://studentaid.gov/h/apply-for-aid/fafsa

  • The FAFSA is FREE. Never pay to apply. 
  • The 2024-2025 FAFSA is a new application, so details and new information will be announced as we receive updates from FAFSA.

TOPS (Taylor Opportunity Program for Students)

IMPORTANT STEPS: 

1. When registering for the ACT, be sure to include LOSFA (the TOPS Code 1595 for ACT and 9019 for SAT) under the “Your Score Report and College Choices” portion.  You may want to contact LOSFA (225-219-1012) to double check that they have received your qualifying ACT score. There is a $12.00 charge to send scores from the ACT website.

2. Create your TOPS Tracker Student Hub account (You will need your Louisiana Secure ID also called LA SECID which you may see your counselor or go to room AG7)

Please click each award to see the eligibilty requirements. Be sure to note that the "TOPS" GPA is calculated from the "TOPS" approved courses and not the same as the HHS GPA.
