Professional Biography

Anitra Banks Boyd is a dedicated and experienced school counselor with a passion for supporting students' growth and success. After graduating from H.L. Bourgeois High School in 1992, Anitra pursued a Bachelor of Science in Business and Office Education at Grambling State University. Later, as Anitra Banks Boyd, she returned to higher education and earned a Master's Degree in Counselor Education from the University of New Orleans.

Anitra is an active member of the American School Counselor Association (ASCA) and the Louisiana School Counseling Association (LSCA). She served as the Technology Chair for the Louisiana School Counseling Association from 2008 to 2011 and was the Department Chair at Hahnville High School for three years. Her outstanding contributions to the field earned her the distinction of being named the 2009-2010 Louisiana High School Counselor of the Year.

With 27.5 years of experience in education and counseling, Anitra has spent 23 years serving the students and community of St. Charles Parish Public Schools. She is deeply committed to enhancing the educational and personal development of students through comprehensive counseling programs.

Counseling Philosophy
As a high school counselor, Anitra's primary goal is to support students in reaching their fullest potential both during high school and beyond. She works to guide students in identifying their academic, career, and personal/social goals. By providing ongoing individual and group counseling, as well as classroom guidance, Anitra helps students navigate the challenges of high school and prepares them for future success.
