Mr. Shawn Heiden

Welcome to the 2026-2027 School Year!!

It is an honor to serve as an assistant principal at Hahnville High School. I have been a part of this administrative team for the last 13 years. Being a part of this leadership team has been one of the greatest privileges of my professional career and has helped me grow in the areas of instructional leadership and managerial organization. Working with the dedicated faculty, hard-working staff, as well as the students, and parents that make up our Hahnville family is something truly remarkable. Tiger Pride runs deep in this community and every day that I come to work at 200 Tiger Drive, I get to experience that pride. Prior to my appointment at Hahnville High School, I taught Louisiana History at JB Martin for 9 years. My life in education is dedicated to my mother who is my greatest inspiration. She was a teacher for 19 years and an administrator who never thought of her work as a "job" but more of a vocation. It has been a rare privilege to serve at Hahnville High School, where 2 of my children currently attend and my oldest son graduated from in 2025.

My educational background includes earning my high school diploma from Archbishop Shaw, my Bachelor's degree from LSU and my Master's Degree in Educational Leadership from UNO. The time I have spent working in St. Charles Parish has afforded me the opportunity to work with children to overcome adversity, to work with parents giving advice, and to work with teachers and staff members encouraging them to look for a better way to serve. Through the service of others, I feel as though I have learned so much about people. Our district is committed to making sure all students receive a high-quality education as well as all the supports needed to achieve their goals. We are extremely fortunate in St. Charles Parish that we can provide students, faculty and staff the opportunities they need to grow into the best version of themselves that they can possibly be.

My duties include evaluating the CTE Department, and the PE Department, serving as the administrator over SBLC, managing grades and transcripts. I also serve as the administrator over athletics, supervising facility improvements, and maintenance. My most fulfilling duties are the ones that allow me to talk with students, teachers, and parents. Our school is full of dynamic students, dedicated teachers, professional staff and supportive parents. I hope to support students in achieving their goals and working to their full potential so they can leave this world a little better than they found it. When students leave HHS, it is my hope that they feel the pride that comes with being a Hahnville Tiger!
